SEALIFE Horseshoe crabs are marine and brackishwater arthropods of the family Limulidae, suborder Xiphosurida, and order Xiphosura.^[2]Their popular name is actually a misnomer, for they bear little resemblance to horseshoes, and they are not true crabs.
