Description

Cassis Cornuta/Horned Helmet (Linnaeus 1758)
“The strikingly large Horned Helmet Shell

The helmet shells are a large family of very solid and often thickened shells found in shallow waters. A very heavy shell with an extremely large size, aptly named as “A Monster of a Natural Shell”. This shell is found in shallow tropical waters from the East coast of Africa through to the Indo-Pacific region. This gastropod generally lives partially submerged on the sandy bottom of the sea and hunts at night. They typically feed on sea urchins and are often seen partly buried in sand with only the top and a couple of horns showing.

This shells have the ability to introduce a sense of fun and bring life into any room settings. They are tactile, quick to make friends and always have a story to tell – perfect for bathrooms, studies and living spaces.

All of our seashells are real with natural imperfections. If you have eyes of a sea-biologist, each of these imperfections will tell a unique story of each shell’s life-journey.

The Helmet shell you purchase will be the best pick from our current collection.

Note:
This is a top-quality shell and not offered as collector’s specimen and it might not be available elsewhere. Being a natural product from sea, you would expect slight imperfections caused by weather and aging under the sea conditions.
