Lambis Crocata/Orange Spider Conch
We’re in love! Lambis Crocata has stolen our hearts forever. His common name is Orange Spider Conch but he looks more like a scorpion than a spider. If you didn’t know what you were looking at you might confuse him with his cousin Lambis Scorpius. In fact there is some convincing evidence that suggests Lambis Crocata is the product of crossbreeding between Lambis Lambis and Lambis Scorpius. The most notable difference are the legs. Where as Scorpius has knobby legs, Spider’s legs are smooth. Their bodies are almost identical in structure except Spider’s whorls flatten and aren’t as prominent on it’s dorsal side. His tail is beautifully curved, his inner aperture is peachy orange and smooth, and his outer body is creamy white with fawn colored spots. These shells are prized for their unique appearance. Stands alone beautifully or pair with Scorpius and Lambis Millipeda.
