Description

The striped fox horse conch is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Fasciolariidae, the spindle  & the tulip snails.

Striped fox horse conchs are thick heavy seashells that are reddish brown and cream in color. They display nicely upside-down with the opening facing up, making them particularly useful for candles, event centerpieces and planters. They are also used in aquariums as fish nurseries.

These shells are coveted for food and used as a trumpet when the tip of the spire is cut off.

These conch seashells are common to shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific.
