Seashells Trinket Box (Yuanbao)TAEL
Yuanbao, also known as Sycee, is a type of gold and silver ingot currency used during Imperial China from its founding under the Qin dynasty until the fall of the Qing in the 20th century. The most common shape of a yuanbao is boat shaped, elliptic, oval, with a circular or oval little ‘bump’ in the middle
Here, I used it as “Trinket Shells” box to neatly keep shells such as Cypraea Moneta/ Money Cowries. In the present-day, gold sycees remain a symbol of wealth and prosperity and are commonly depicted during the Chinese New Year festivities and cultural events. It is believed that will bring Good Luck to those who own it.
This Seashell Trinket can be used as a décor item for your study or living area; Or as a gift for your loved ones, wishing them of good fortune; Or a wonderful storage area to showcase your gifts, jewellery, accessories, chocolates, or even dried fruits.
While looks simple, it will never fail to deliver the unique accent that brings to life the wisdom and mystery of the ancient culture to your home or to the recipients.
This special all-season gift is decorated with Eight (8) pieces of Seashells and ‘fortified’ with natural sand, bringing the sea-breeze of ‘good luck’ charm to your home.
